Depends on what you are wanting - hibachi or sushi? Hibachi dinners range from 15-30 bucks approximately. On another note I have always enjoyed the sushi here.
Yes
Great service and great food! One of the best japanese restaurants I’ve eaten at. We made reservations and we were called at the exact time of our reservation. We are from North Carolina and we come to South Carolina a couple times a year. We will definitely be coming back to eat next time we visit! #hachiyaMI #buzzybooth
Hachiya is a place my husband and I have been going to for years! Of course it was Miyabi's until recently. The food is still phenomenal and staff are amazing!!! The food is cooked fresh in front of you how you want it! Can't wait to go back now that they are open again!!!!
Felt very safe here, COVID protocols are being used by both patrons and staff. Food was great, lots to bring home too...
Great restaurant! In 20 years of dining at this establishment we have never been disappointed. Went back tonight for dinner and had Emily as our server and Jimbo as our chef. Emily was AWESOME! She never let our glasses go empty, our order was taken within minutes of being sat and she was very prompt with dessert, boxes and checks. Jimbo made sure to entertain the whole table and make us all feel welcomed. The manager, Pj, also stopped by to ensure everything was as we expected. Good food, service and friendly atmosphere!
Used Google to make a reservation on a Monday night for 530, got there around 540 and the place was slammed. They got us right to our table where the guy made us a fantastic meal. I got the steak and chicken and it was out of this world! Between the soup, salad, rice, vegatibles, and your meal, there is absolutely no way you can eat everything. If you plan on coming for dinner, I would reccomend you not eat breakfast or lunch, because you need to save as much room as possible! Prices aren't bad either. When I visit south Carolina again, I will definitely visit!
Clean. Awesome environment. Food was great
Renny was our chef. Cole was our server. Had a wonderful time. Laughing enjoying our meal.chef and server did a awesome job
Awesome dinner. Been here lots of times, great food and atmosphere. Only complaint I could have is sometimes the drumbeating for table birthdays can be a bit loud and obnoxious. Tonight was very good less birthdays going on so it was more peaceful and enjoyable.
It was so amazing!! The chefs we're nice and so were the waiters.
Absolutely loved this place. There was a wait but well worth it! Ambiance is above average. All the employees clearly love their jobs. Chef put on a great show, connected with the entire table whilst making a spectacular dish! Absolutely will be back next time we are in town!
Been going there for 29 years. Always delicious. Be sure to get the filet, it's worth the extra $3.
Every year we make a special trip here!! It's delicious and super plentiful!! Jimbo is our favorite chef!! The amount of food is unreal!! It's a must to eat here!!
Let me first start off with saying we come to Hachiya VERY often... And have never left a review before. The service and quality is usually very consistent and great and we have never been disappointed. Tonight we had Kenji, he was AMAZING!! (if we can get him everytime ...we will) Quick, friendly, excellent cook... he made our weekly date night so fun. We hope he gets recognized for his hard work and skill on the grill. Thank you for everything! See you soon Hachiya!
PJ the Manager , Shane our waiter, Kai our Chef made our visit wonderful. Me and my wife consider this Miyabi Restaurant the best Japenese Authentic Cuisine in South Carolina !!!!!!
The salad was fresh, the "soup" was just a salty broth, the vegetables was just a little sliced zucchini and onions, the meat and shrimp was good but extremely small proportions and then the rice. The rice was supposed to be fried rice but instead was just precooked rice that was warmed up on the grill with no flavor or anything added. Each person gets enough "fried rice" to feed 4 people. You either take it home or let them throw it away. We are pretty sure that the Maitais DIDN'T have any alcohol or very little. As a recommendation, I/WE, won't go back partially because the food wasn't great but the price was BIG and we were there for the earlybird. We DON'T RECOMMEND !
Excellent experience! Our chef Jeff was fantastic and made the experience very fun, while being sensitive to our young children that were scared of “the fire” haha. Owners: never let Jeff leave! He’s great!!
Never Gets Old ..The Staff Us Always Pleasant & The Food Is Tops!!
This was our 1st time there and we absolutely love it. We will definitely go back and we're visiting Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. we live in Florida but try to up to South Carolina every 3 months and when we do will definitely be eating at this restaurant again. great food amazing prices awesome service. I highly recommend it
The required mask thing is a deal breaker for me. The only restaurant I’ve been in that requires masks at the table. Never got a chance to try the cuisine.
Our chef Jeff was amazing. Cooked everything perfect and had a wonderful personality. Made sauces for us for our food that was so delicious. We will definately be back on out next family vacation
I am not from the area and ordered take out from here and I was NOT disappointed. Everything was so fresh and the presentation was completely beautiful. My chicken teriyaki bowl was delicious and my ginger salad was crisp/fresh. Highly recommend! Top notch Japanese!!
We made a reservation and were seated promptly after we arrived. The food was great and super tasty! Pretty much exactly what you expect from a hibachi place that cooks in front of you. The chef actually listened to my order for rare steak which is unusual because people love to overcook it.
The food was delicious! Are chef was amazing he was the best on yet. Are waiter was also amazing he was on it when I came to everything. I got the steak from the early bird special I came with my BFF we got the same thing and it was definitely delicious! # DEFINITELY GOING TO COME BACK!
The food was excellent and the chef was awesome! However the staff at the front of the restaurant are VERY rude!
My favorite restaurant ever! It doesn't matter which location you visit the quality is the same. Excellent service. Excellent show. Excellent food. Not to mention you can not beat the prices for the early bird special!
Probably the tastiest soup I have had a at Japanese Steakhouse. I feel like the rice was a little bland: no veggies in the rice, just rice and soy sauce and a few sesame seeds. Other than that, it's a typical Japanese Steakhouse. However, they did have and early bird $16.99 special (before 5:00). The filet was tender and I had leftovers to take home. Oh, and we enjoyed the orange sherbet at the end.The hostesses could stand to be a little friendlier. Of course the server and chef were very friendly, as were the new friends we made at the table.
Awesome food and Take was great at our super fresh sushi order! We always get a Philly roll and we tried the Ocean roll. SO GOOD. Would go back just for that! The chicken teriyaki was also good. A little too sweet for my liking but the boyfriend loved it.
Made reservations for 22 people, so we used 2 tables, wasn't a big deal it was 3 birthdays in one dinner. Table one started getting food before our drinks had been made. At the end as I was passing out birthday cake, we had paid for 3 pictures, only got the chance to take one before a manager and 2 servers started telling table 2 they had to move for the next party. That's not acceptable in any business. It was done right after everyone had signed or payed the bills. I hadn't even finished with the cakes, or been able to get the other 2 pictures. Then they tried to argue about my money for the other 2 pictures. Eventually got it back, but left extremely frustrated and will never return to any of the locations. We didn't get sat until an hour after our reservation, rushed during dinner then half my party was told they had to leave after paying. Not okay.
Great food, great entertainment, great atmosphere! #hachiyaMI #buzzybooth
Food is still Good, But Managment was very rude to Customers and Staff infront of the Costomers. over herd employees say most staff hate working for the MOD. Prices of Food has gone up. Have 2 Kids under 6 that shared, wife and my self no extras, with sodas and tip over a hundred. Want be going back.
Awesome as usual. You want to slap someone when you get done eating there.
We were invited to this restaurant tonight for a Grand Opening. It was amazing place to come and have a relaxing dinner. The place used to be Miyabi Japanese Restaurant, now name have changed to"Hachiya" Japanese Restaurant. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. Great food and a great atmosphere make you want to come back here more often. I highly recommend to come and have dinner here.
We had a great time! We celebrated a family members birthday and it was great! We had J Paul and he did wonderful! Our sever was great too! (But I unfortunately don't remember his name) Extremely fun atmosphere and all of our food was cooked perfectly! So flavorful and of course great portions! We will definitely be coming back again!
JP, who is a manager, stepped up and cooked while short staffed on busy night during the virus, and I have to say it was one of the best hibachi dinners I've had. I'm glad they dropped the franchise name, went independent, and are serving amazing food not only tourists, but are devoted to the locals. This is the best restaurant around, hands down. Keep up the great work!
Great experience and pic! #hachiyaMI #buzzybooth
Typical hibachi style restaraunt. Great food and it's always fun to watch the chefs prepare the food in front of you and to enjoy their "tricks". The service is great. It's a nice place to go to while on a date night, with a group of friends, and/or with your family.
Tonight was the first time we decided to try and bring our daughter to this restaurant. She is 4 and has special needs and she gets very nervous/anxious when she hears loud noises. So, we brought some noise reduction headphones to help if she became scared. We wanted to say a big thank you to our chef Gerard. He was very aware and courteous to the fact that she had these needs and even asked one of the drummers who was passing by to play softer and pointed to our daughter ( who was nervously wearing her headphones at this point). It was very kind of him to do that and she seemed to really enjoy our dinner! Thanks to him! So, thank you Gerard! You were really great! It meant a lot to this little family!
Sooooo soooo good! Extremely impressed with the service and the food and the price! #hachiyaMI #buzzybooth
Service was great and food delicious!Grant and Jesse were the best!! #hachiyaMI #buzzybooth
We had an issue where more people came to dinner with us than we'd planned for. I understand they do get busy, but they were very un-accommodating. What made it so bad about the situation was that we realized the mistake, but all the managers or hosts(I assume) stood around us like they were irritated with us. It really put a damper on our celebration. Everything went down hill after that. The waiter was pleasant, but the excitement from our cook was dull and to top it off everything felt rushed. I'm annoyed just thinking how I felt there.
DON’T DO IT!!! I have always loved this restaurant, but I’m just going to have to wait to eat here again. I called for a reservation and I was assured that they were operating at 50% and that since I had a party of 3 that I would be sat at a hibachi table with another party of 2. So upon entering the restaurant I noticed soooo many people not wearing masks and it wasn’t being enforced. Then we were taken to our table and our group of 3 was placed at a table with two other groups of 2!! Under normal conditions these hibachi tables seat 8, but now they have removed 1 seat. ONE!!! That’s it. Wow. And THIS is why Myrtle Beach is blowing up with Covid. Even though the food is good it’s just not worth the risk.
Great food. Awesome service
We had Jeff as our chef. He was great and very personable! The food was cooked perfectly and we had a ton of leftovers. The servers bring to-go yum yum sauce with the leftovers as everyone always wants. Sherbet at the end of the meal was delicious. When I'm Myrtle Beach again, I will definitely be revisiting!
We had a great dinner tonight, as we always do. Our server Grant was AMAZING. He was very polite and was on his A-game. The air conditioning was out in the building (in the middle of July) but hey, things happen. Our server hustled and continued to deliver great service. Our chef seemed a little “burnt out” as he didn’t interact as precious chefs would. But the food was still good so I gave five stars. We love going to this restaurant. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Very delicious. I love eating it every time i come to the beach! #hachiyaMI #buzzybootH
I have been coming to to this restaurant for about 30 years now, I have NEVER been so disappointed. Our chef did not cook my food correctly, the waiter said he was getting me a manger, who never showed up. They have raised their prices but lowered their expectations.
Fantastic experience! Jeff (or Geoff) was an awesome chef. They took my shellfish allergy serious and I didn't have an issue. One of the best ribeye's I've ever had. Had the spicy calamari roll too and it was great.
We had a splendid dinner - superior service, more food than we have ever been served at any other Japanese steak house - great dinner -thank you.
I've been coming here for over 25 years..this is the worst I've had. I had Hendrick. I'm very specific with what I want and my party. The rice was burnt..you can smell the scorch. I have a way for my mushrooms which I pay for extra. He didn't want to listen about how I wanted them. I asked like 3 times for him to put my sauce on. I feeled off the burnt rice and sat it on the table. I also don't like onions which was said. He tried to give me onions with my chicken and asked if I could pick them out. It was my birthday. The picture was so blurry, u couldn't see my face clear or my friends. She said she couldn't take another one. I've never had a bad experience but tonight was the absolute worst. I can't upload the picture. I didn't even get the sauce I asked for (3 times). Yes I am a local and this has been my absolute favorite for many years. But tonight..not happy at all.
Previously named Miyabi Japanese restaurant....this place is always on point, our Chef was Jimbo and he is always great! Definitely the best hibachi on the beach....and Alex our server was a sweet heart as well! Pricey but the food is plenty and quality so you cant lose
